About Customer
Headquartered in New York City, the client is one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies and consistently ranks on the Fortune 500 list of the largest U.S. corporations. With a mission to discover, develop, and deliver innovative medicines that help patients prevail over serious diseases, it manufactures prescription pharmaceuticals and biologics in several therapeutic areas, including cancer, HIV/AIDS, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hepatitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and psychiatric disorders.
Challenge
The client was trying to build an ecosystem of cloud-native applications with standardized CFT templates and automated deployment. The client needed to drive agility, security, and governance across their platforms and the digital ecosystem.
The new applications should enhance control and improve standardization across the organization, boosting performance and significantly reducing the time to market.
Solution
Due to the extensive nature of the task and our client’s need for scalability, agility, and standardization across the organization, Brillio decided to leverage Next-Gen AWS MSP.
With Next-Gen MSP, Brillio can provide end-to-end AWS solutions to customers at any stage of the cloud journey, including planning and design, building and migration, operations and support, and automation and optimization.
Brillio started by building a DevOps pipeline based on AWS for speeding up the app development process and for enhancing business app provisioning.
We also leveraged our deep AWW expertise and built a product service catalog using Product Factory Framework in a HUB-SPOKE Model where products are getting distributed into multiple child accounts from a single service account with its product.
Business Benefits
Following Brillio’s implementation of Next-Gen AWS MSP solutions, there was an immediate 35% reduction in cycle time for new deployments through DevOps automation, as well as a reduction in cycle time from 60 to 1.2 hours for compute-intensive clinical trial simulations.
Brillio also significantly improved security by providing patched, hardened secure instances to all business units. We also provided 20+ starter kit templates for quick-service onboarding on the cloud created as part of the Service Catalog.
We’ve managed to significantly improve cycle time (35% reduction) and time-to-market, and achieved a 40% cost reduction with JIT architecture and 30% on big data analytics.
Leveraging the AWS solutions, we also reduced resource configuration sprawl to only Service Catalogue-approved products, ensured easy compliance with business goals, and reduced the time-to-market for solutions.
Additionally, running simulations 98% faster led to more efficient and less costly clinical trials, as well as better conditions for patients.
