Significant cost reduction and improved efficiency with Brillio and AWS

About the client

The client is an American multinational company dealing in the field of Energy & Utilities and providing clean, affordable, safe and reliable energy to their customers.

Customer Challenge

The client had decided to rearchitect and move existing functionalities from On-Prem EDW solution (Informatica/Teradata) to AWS services using Informatica BDM to address challenges of on-premise Infrastructure and current Teradata Platform. The modern architecture would provide a single platform for heterogeneous data, help reduce cost, provide flexibility, scalability, ability to handle big data, streaming data, and enable advanced analytics.

Brillio’s Solution

  • Brillio created Design Patterns for Data Ingestion to Raw Zone using Informatica BDM and Design Patterns for Data Loading to Publish Zone, as well as developed an Automated Testing Framework.
  • Data ingestion factory & ETL processes leveraged for data Ingestion to AWS-S3 RAW Zone.
  • Historical data migration from current Teradata staging (ODS Layer) to AWS S3 RAW zone.

Business Impact

Following the implementation, the client got a modern approach to all their data needs, with a significant reduction in costs due to lower data storage requirements. The client also leveraged the benefits of accelerators that also enable self-service.

  • A holistic data lake to handle all enterprise data needs
  • Low-cost data storage decoupled from compute
  • Quicksight, Athena, and applied accelerators that enable self-service

Let’s create something amazing together!
