Helped the client obtain cost-efficiency and avoid incoming hardware refresh costs, while boosting the performance with 24/7 availability

About the Client

The client is a leading American cloud computing company with its headquarters in Santa Clara, California. It is one of the leading ITSM tool providers who helps its customers to manage digital workflows.

The client wanted to create a more efficient customer experience through its SaaS workflow platform for ITSM. The client decided to move its business-critical SAP estate—including 50 essential applications, more than 10 SAP landscapes, 50 database instances, and over 50 terabytes of storage and other IT assets to Microsoft Azure to understand the value they can deliver. Another reason behind the decision to migrate its SAP infrastructure to the cloud environment platform was to attain cost-effectiveness and to avoid the incoming hardware refresh costs in 2020. The performance of the SAP platform and intensive operations were critical and required better administration of infrastructure, dynamic allocation of computing, and 24/7 availability of SAP servers.

  • Increase availability by reducing major outages due to infrastructure failure, which caused production downtime and adhere to an aggressive business continuity plan with Recovery Point Objective and Recovery Time Objective.
  • Reduce costs by ramping down huge maintenance of OnPrem, and upcoming (2020) hardware refresh costs.
  • Boost organizational elasticity by mitigating the failure to provide on-demand capacity and by eliminating slower builds that are not aligned with the business demands

The client wanted a more reliable, scalable, and cost-effective way to course their SAP landscapes and other applications with 99.99% availability. As a Microsoft certified partner since 2014 and Microsoft CSP Tier 1, Brillio helped the customer conduct a cloud transformation program and chose Microsoft Azure, fully certified and approved by SAP as a reliable platform for SAP products and solutions.

Brillio helped the client migrate over 150+ SAP instances, as well as perform a seamless migration from the current datacenter to Microsoft Azure Cloud.

  • Migrated on-premises SAP & Non-SAP ecosystem with multiple landscapes across various environments to Azure public cloud with minimal business disruption, and implemented Brillio’s Cloud Infrastructure Platform (CLIP™) to automate assessment, build, and migrate
  • Leveraged Brillio’s accelerated methods via CLIP™- Migration Factory along with native Azure & SAP solutions
  • Leveraged a relationship with Microsoft to engage technical experts to provide necessary technical oversight and execution validation, and achieve a higher availability SLA – 99.99%, with a well-defined approach and platform features

Brillio applied its CLIP™ based automation-led framework to deliver seamless and secure migration services that suited the complex business needs. The proven solution, bundled with cutting-edge tools, was the right catalyst for discovering the current SAP ecosystem, enabling migration to Azure, and managing services post-migration.

  • Increased performance of SAP BI environment by 42% and removed dependency on black box implementation of SAP BI
  • Increased availability to 99.99% up-time, via a highly scalable infrastructure with the agility to increase the capacity based on-demand
  • 40% reduction in TCO by reducing CapEx and moving to an OpEx model, with more than 80% reduction in deployment cycle time, and 60% reduction in license cost using Azure Hybrid benefit
  • Created a dashboard to monitor current costs and expected future costs with the cost breakdown
