About the customer

The client is one of the leading news and information providers in the world, headquartered in New York, with a global presence and reach.

Business Challenge

The client was looking for a trusted IT partner, with the necessary scale and capabilities to seamlessly migrate their existing infrastructure to a public cloud and provide support as a managed services provider. The client has been using their existing infrastructure for the past 2 years, already having a high complexity level and a landscape of over 10TB of databases and 65 servers.

The client faced issues with the SLA adherence for the resolution of incidents and service requests. There was no single point of ownership, and the ticket volume was modest because of non-adherence to the standard ticket logging and resolution process.

The client’s goal was to drive efficiency in their hosting environment, search for cost-saving opportunities, improve resilience and disaster recovery, migrate to a hyper-scaler to allow on-demand provisioning and performance, and resolve day-to-day issues in managing their infrastructure.

Solution

Brillio conducted an end-to-end assessment of the current infrastructure and analyzed the client’s expectations, recommending AWS as the cloud service provider.

To enable the client to leverage the full benefits of moving their existing infrastructure to AWS, Brillio recommended a few re-architecture propositions in the solution and designed the future state for their systems.

To provide services for the migration of the existing estate to the public cloud, Brillio utilized its industry-acclaimed Cloud Migration Factory built on the proprietary BrillioOne.ai Platform for a faster and secure migration while automating many of the repetitive activities using readily available scripts.

  • For a seamless migration, Brillio performed the migration in 6 phases (Assessment & Design, Cloud Foundation, Sandbox Migration, Development Migration, Quality Migration + DR, Production Migration with HA & Disaster Recovery) with predefined timelines and deliverables.
  • To provide value-based services for infrastructure and support as a managed service provider, Brillio executed services in a hybrid delivery model to provide a low-cost yet efficient operating model with 24/7 coverage.
  • Bi-directional integration between the client’s ITSM platform and BrillioOne.ai was done to leverage the service catalogs as part of BrillioOne.ai with pre-defined SOPs and scripts to resolve issues at a faster rate.
